This is the stronger version of Dispel Magic.
Casting it removes any bad effects, may it be poison, sleep, bodily defects or harmful magic, from the whole party. This makes it much more economical to use this spell instead of casting Dispel Magic numerous times. It is essentially a combination of Mass Cure, Awaken All and an anti-enchantment component.
