This is the most basic light spell. Using it, a faint light will surround the caster for a short time, allowing improved vision in dark areas. It has the same effect as drinking a white potion. It only lasts a short time, and is best used if reagents or mana are not available.
The Light or even Great Light spells provide more light for a greater length of time.
