Filanium is a rare mineral used in many medical and alchemical preparations. The mud near the frozen city of Anodunos was particularly rich in it -- many bathed there, believing it a health measure.
Filanium-enriched mud, combined with Basilisk Oil, is important for the Avatar's quest in Ultima Underworld II.
