Faultless was a tall ghost who haunted the ruins of old Magincia in Ultima IV. It told the Stranger that he had been hung for his sin of Pride. Following a tip from Heywood, when the Stranger asked Faultless about the mantra of Humility, it told the hero that the mantra of Pride, being the antithesis of Humility, was "mul".

Faultless also asked the Stranger if the hero was proud. If the Stranger answered "yes", he would lower his Humility; if the hero answered "no", he would raise his Humility.
