Eldroth is the provisioner of Vesper.
The Avatar met him in Ultima VII in his shop. Right away after being asked about his name, Eldroth revealed himself to be a smart-ass. He prided himself to be the best person to ask for advice. However, he constantly butchered figures of speech, gave off platitudes and showed hints of early stages of dementia. Yet he had somehow managed to convince the people of Vesper to elect Auston to mayor.
Also his knowledge of the people was rather general. The only thing notable was, that like most humans of Vesper, he was racist against the Gargoyles and felt that "attack is the best defense" against them.
Besides talking, he also offered the Avatar his services as provisioner.
