Ducio is the master artisan of Moonshade. However, having no magic that didn't mean much in that city.
When talking to Ducio in Ultima VII Part Two, the Avatar very fast got the impression that Ducio wasn't that much of a master. He had become lazy and let othershis apprentice Topo and his Automatons—do all the work. While he bragged about his Automatons, it became clear to the Avatar that Ducio had an big inferiority complex, which he took out on Topo by bullying him.
After some more bragging of his work, the Avatar finally got him to identify a magical apparatus that had appeared in one of the Teleport Storms as belonging to Vasculio, which prompted him to give a short version of Vasculio's story.
Days later Shamino the Anarch had usurped power, resulting in the mages killing each other. Being one of the few survivors, Ducio had no idea what to do next. However, he did help the Avatar by making three Worm Gems after getting detailed instructions how to create them.
