De Maria is a bard living in Cove during Ultima VII.
De Maria immediately recognized the Avatar when they met the first time, and he revealed that he had already sung many ballads about the hero. DeMaria had little to say at the beginning, but after talking to Lord Heather, De Maria had more to say.
De Maria admitted in flowery words his love for Zinaida until she told him to stop. She thought the Avatar had figured it out. Also, after asking him about Nastassia, De Maria sang her sad life story, prompting the Avatar to again visit the poor girl and help her.
