Andrio is a student of the Seminarium in Moonshade on the Serpent Isle.
When the Avatar spoke with him in Ultima VII Part Two, Andrio seemed an enthusiastic student and explained his ambitions to become as great a mage as Filbercio. He speculated as to the nature of Erstam's insanity, citing too much power in too little time, and would also comment on the two mages who willingly entered the Mountains of Freedom on account of the large caches of stoneheart there.
After a brief argument with his fellow student Freli, Andrio revealed hesitantly that he was frightened of the mage Torrissio, even though he sought to inquire of the man to help him in his experimentions, by which Andrio sought to make human skin as tough as wood.
Later, when Shamino the Anarch overtook the city, he was one of the few survivors.
Trivia[]
- According to the original design documents for Serpent Isle, Andrio was intended to have accidentally flooded the Seminarium with headless after a spell of his went awry. Freli is then supposed to send the player on a quest to rescue Andrio from the swarm of monsters.[1]
